Gas observations Activity 4 1-13-11

I think the balloons got bigger because of the oxygen that was being released inside the cake pan. Because the pan was a seculded area, there was so much air in the pan that it had to go somewhere and I think that somewhere was inside the balloon.

The pump moves molecules. Taking molecules from the outside of the balloon away- that is why it gets bigger. Molecules in the cake pan are moving and they bounce around. Air molecules moving on the outside and bouncing off of the balloon. So there are molecules outside the balloon and inside the balloon. The balloon expands because we are only pushing in one direction.
