Pressure - Activity 5 1-13-11

How much pressure do you place on someone when you stand on them?

Well I first figured out the area of the size of my foot- the amount of pressure I would be putting on them. So the area I would be putting on them would be 3 inches times 4 inches which equals 12 inches squared. So I then divided my weight by those inches so I divided 150 lbs by 12 inches squared and got 12.5 inches squared.

I exert 12.5 lbs per squre inch. Interesting!
